To join the Moulin Rouge as professional dancer, candidates must successfully complete the audition and selection process. Auditions are regularly held around the world to identify highly skilled dancers. Upcoming audition dates are announced in advance, allowing candidates to register and prepare accordingly.

Auditions at the Moulin Rouge are designed to evaluate each candidate’s technical ability, versatility, and stage presence across a range of dance styles, including classical ballet, jazz, and the renowned French Cancan. On the day of the audition, short choreographed combinations are taught across multiple styles. This allows dancers to demonstrate versatility and adaptability. Particular attention is given to the French Cancan. The highly physical and demanding nature of the French Cancan requires strength, stamina, precision and strong technical control while performing high kicks, splits and cartwheels. Candidates selected to proceed after the shorter combinations will continue the audition by learning a longer choreographed routine.

Please note that sections of the audition may be filmed for reference and archival purposes. Candidates who prefer not to be filmed are kindly asked to notify the team in advance.
